Translations

Did you know Bible Visuals International (BVI) offers children’s ministry resources in nearly 80 different languages? Since our inception, we have partnered with over 70 mission agencies to help missionaries and national believers convey to people around the world “in his own language . . . the wonderful words of God” (Acts 2:6, 11).

Browsing our online storefront, you’ll find Bible lessons and stories in common languages like Spanish, Chinese, Portuguese, French, and Arabic. You also might find languages you’ve never heard of, like Baoule, Gujarati, or Shqip! Translation efforts are always ongoing—if you’re fluent in other languages and are interested in helping to translate BVI resources, we’d love to hear from you! See below for more details.

Modern technology has provided us with a greater opportunity than ever to create and provide translated materials to our ministry partners worldwide. Through the Internet, we can collaborate with missionaries and nationals who have a vested interest in translating these materials. Translated materials are available digitally as instant downloads from our website.

Our Translation Process

BVI translations happen in a variety of ways. For some of the most asked-for languages (Spanish, Portuguese, etc.), we have a small network of regular volunteers who generously give of their free time to help grow our translation projects. Similarly, many of our licensing partnerships include translation efforts. Though our partners are typically printing and distributing these translations on their own, they also send us digital files to offer via the BVI website to anyone else who teaches in that language. Other times, customers do translations on their own and share their work with BVI.

Are you interested in translating BVI materials? Please follow the important guidelines below:

  1. Please contact us before starting any translation work. While we are always grateful for new translations, we want to avoid duplicating translations that are already completed or in progress.
  2. Please review our doctrinal statement. While we do allow for some modification of the text to make idioms or other cultural language appropriate for the language you are translating, it is important that NONE of the doctrinal content be changed.
  3. Prior to beginning your translation work, you will be asked to sign a translation agreement and a copy of our statement of faith. Please be prepared to send BVI a digital copy of your completed translation.
